I know that suggesting that these things should be taken humourously is asking for a lot, but it's true in this case (I think?). If you like, though, consider it another of those mind-projections, relieving the consciousness of the strain of having to process such thoughts continually.


I open my eyes in the morning -
I see,
She has quit my life;
So I ask:
Should I follow suit?

I like it! :) Yeah, he should start a new life, definitely! Discomfort is a sign of change, suffering is an opportunity for increasing your compassion, ... Taking pain with dignity's as good as helping others when you're feeling good.

Thanks for the ever erudite comment :) It might surprise you to know that the meaning you got out of it is not the one that I had in mind - mine was much more straightforward. I feel like this phenomenon is common, maybe because whatever inspires one to write something can affect at a much deeper level that one realizes... I don't know if that made sense, but the point is I think such things are not just complete chance.
